Bieber Fever
Yes it is rampant in the junior high! For those of you who do not have the opportunity to surround yourself with the teenage souls, today is the Bieb's birthday. The little man turned 17 and his favorite color is purple. I was questioned numerous times as to why I wasn't wearing purple. I responded by saying that I wore my purple yesterday and couldn't wear it two days in a row.

Let the madness begin
Rehearsals have started. Is it bad that I'm already a little crazy?! It will get there. Slowly but surely. Oh well. That's life.
The kids are learning their music and the actual blocking starts tomorrow.
Update to come. Let's home we all make it through this alive.

Make it or Break it
So last week I held auditions for our show. I posted the list yesterday. Not too many tears. I took way more students than I should have anyway. To top it all I checked my email at the end of the day. I had a message from the office notifying me that a parent had called and ask that I call back. Great. It happened to be the parent of a student that DIDN'T make the list. So I prepared myself. Called the parent. And this is what they said,
"Oh yes, {M} is really sick today and so she just wanted me to call to see if she made the play."
Yeah, that's NOT what I prepared for. How do you tell a parent that their kid didn't make it?! Simple you don't. At least that's what I came up with. I replied, "{M} is on the tech crew!"
Problem solved. Mother was happy. I was happy. We'll see how {M} feels about it tomorrow.
All in all a good day!

Alive and Well
So here I am in the South in 20 degree weather wishing there was snow. Crazy I know but true. What I wouldn't give for the familiarity of a cold snow Utah winter.
Auditions are this week. Stay posted!

Audition's
Be sure to watch each of the monologues and make notes for yourself and the monologues that went immediately before AND after you. That means you do 3 critiques. Write 3 things they did well and 3 things to work on. Due on Friday, March 12.
